Intelligence is an essential part of effective law enforcement, and all police forces require sophisticated IT applications to be able to gather, analyse, disseminate and manage very large quantities of intelligence-related data. Multiple imperatives drive the structure of an effective system, and make the management of intelligence a highly complex affair for organisations: all information is potentially useful and must therefore be available, in real-time, and all information and processes must reside in a secure environment. The need to search, analyse, visualise and share this information adds an additional element of complexity.

Memex Intelligence is a secure operational platform that supports the collection, review, evaluation, development, analysis and sharing of all of the information held within a force, and is used by over a third of UK Police Officers working on intelligence operations. Once in the system, intelligence can be viewed and analysed using a range of analytical tools, and automated link chart visualisation can be generated from structured or unstructured data, showing important connections between people, places and objects. As with all Memex products, Memex Intelligence features advanced real-time search capabilities for structured and unstructured data. Federated Searching, whereby all available information sources can be searched and results generated from a single access point, means all relevant information is instantly accessible - vital in intelligence operations.

With Memex Intelligence, security is paramount. Every user is assigned a unique log-in and password, and a granular security model supports multiple role and user group access levels. Memex Intelligence also offers compartmentalised data options for multi-agency operations.
