ROI

Memex Patriarch is highly configurable, in terms of both behaviour and appearance, designed to meet the diverse requirements of the Memex customer base.  Furthermore, most of the configurable features of Memex Patriarch can be controlled by simply editing a settings file within the system.  This means that not only can an organisation’s own staff configure the system themselves, but do so exactly when and how they require, without returning to Memex.  The advantages here for an organisation investing in a Memex system are substantial.  ROI can be achieved quickly on a Memex system since lifetime costs are minimal, no matter how much an organisation requires that system to grow and change in response to future requirements.

Forms design

Forms are used within the Memex system to enable the display of individual records stored in a database.  Each type of database has its own form, and Memex Patriarch’s built-in Form Designer allows users to design forms to fit their precise requirements.  Customisations may be made to graphics, matching the layout to the order in which the data is received or to form design, making forms similar to those used elsewhere in the organisation.  The List Manager tool even enables users to create pick-lists for forms, and drop-down lists to increase the efficiency of data entry by reducing data input errors.

Entity/database design

System behaviour can also be controlled at the application and database level, allowing organisations to independently configure the behaviour of each, ensuring both continuity and independence within the system.  With Memex Patriarch, in fact, the design and configuration of each type of database is stored as an entity, allowing trained users to create new databases based upon those entities.

Printing

Memex Patriarch is highly configurable in terms of Printing.  The design of printouts and print templates are configured using a tiered system of XML files and HTML templates.  This ensures printouts display precisely the information required, in precisely the format required.  Additional information such as protective markings can even be introduced.  By allowing users to customise their printed reports and information in this way, intelligence can be communicated and shared effectively will all who need it.
