SAS® Refines Focus with New Go-to-marketStrategy for Public Security

Leading Public Security Player Reports Dynamic Growth and is Actively Recruiting Despite the Downturn

MARLOW,UK,  November, 2011

Six months on from its launch, the public security team of business analytics vendor SAS®, has developed and rolled out a new go-to-market strategy and is reporting growing momentum for its public security solutions across the world.

Responding to areas its public security customers have highlighted as their most urgent and serious challenges, SAS® has refined its proposition for public security concentrating on four core issues: national security, law enforcement, border management and fusion centres.

Growing demand for SAS® innovative end-to-end solution for public security has helped the company to buck the current economic trend and launch a recruitment drive for experienced individuals with public security expertise. And it is doing this not just indeveloped countries but also in developing regions, a trend supported by growing demand for its innovative technology.

As Sales and Marketing director, Mark Gibson states,“we are increasingly being approached by organisations in all areas of the world including the emerging territories of Africa and the Middle East who see us as a trusted partner helping to solve a range of public security problems. And in answering their need, the combination of technology capability and domain skills that we offer is helping both our customers and ourselves to achieve success.”

SAS® offers a comprehensive portfolio of products to the public security community, designed to help improve intelligence processes, enhance public safety and prevent and deter crime, terrorism and other threats. The company is consistently pushing the boundaries in terms of the quality and innovation of its solutions portfolio.

Joanne Taylor, Director, Public Security, SAS®, comments, “our primary focus is around national security and, more specifically, counter terror intiatives, with an emphasis on targeting core intelligence agencies. In line with this, we are actively recruiting individuals with expertise in this area.”

An Integrated Approach

SAS® is also benefiting from an on-going migration across the public security space where we are seeing changes in the way organisations are managing information across many functional areas to help address the scope and complexity of threats that our customers face.

This plays into the holistic capability that SAS® can offer. According to Taylor, “it is about delivering solutions to address customers’ complete business challenges. From our perspective, that means the size of deals and the investment we expect from customers is increasing. And this in turn enables us build stronger more durable customer relationships.”
